Summary:Design Experience for Hydraulic Engineering Machinery Oil Circuit Valve Blocks 1. The valve block body is generally rectangular and has six faces. 2. The material for the valve block body should preferably be forged 35 steel or continuous-cast billets.

Design Experience in Hydraulic Circuit Valve Blocks for Construction Machinery

1. The valve block body is generally in the shape of a rectangular parallelepiped.

2. The valve block body shall be made of 35 steel forgings or continuous-cast billets.

3. When the diameter of the smaller duct is no greater than 25 mm, the distance between the walls of two adjacent ducts shall be no less than 5 mm; when the diameter of the smaller duct exceeds 25 mm, the distance between the walls of two adjacent ducts shall be no less than 10 mm.

4. To prevent the deposition of contaminants, the bore depth for interconnected passages should generally extend to the centerline of the passage with which it is connected.

5. The external oil ports of the main flow passages generally use flanged connections. For smaller ports with a nominal diameter of 25 mm or less, threaded connections may also be used. The external oil ports of the pilot flow passages should preferably use threaded connections.

6. Process openings shall be sealed using removable closures such as threaded plugs or flanges to facilitate cleaning, flushing, and inspection of the openings. The threads of the threaded plugs shall comply with the requirements of GB 2878. Where space constraints preclude the use of removable closures, ball-expanding plugs may be used to seal openings with a diameter not exceeding 12 mm.

7. Necessary test ports shall be provided on the main flow passages and the primary pilot passages to enable monitoring of the hydraulic circuit’s operating parameters. These test ports shall generally be equipped with pressure-tapping fittings featuring quick-connect couplings.

16. All external oil ports and inspection ports on the valve block shall be clearly marked, with the markings corresponding to those in the hydraulic schematic diagram.

8. A nameplate mounting location shall be provided in a conspicuous area of the valve block. The valve block shall be equipped with lifting provisions, typically in the form of eye bolts.

9. When forging blanks are used, they shall be normalized to eliminate residual internal stresses. If necessary, nondestructive testing shall be performed to inspect their internal quality.

10. Chamfer the edges at 2 × 45°; for smaller valve bodies, chamfer at 1.5 × 45°.

11. All oil passage ports shall retain sharp edges and shall not be chamfered; however, all burrs must be completely removed. The chamfer depth at the threaded ports of all pipe fittings shall not exceed half the thread pitch.

12. Deburr and remove flash, thoroughly remove chips and contaminants from the bore, and clean the bore thoroughly.

13. Apply the corresponding oil-port identification stamp adjacent to each oil port, with the stamp positioned at least 6 mm from the port opening (provided that this does not compromise the sealing performance of the O-ring).

14. When the valve block surface is subjected to electroless nickel plating, the coating thickness shall be 0.008–0.012 mm.

15. After machining is completed, the valve block shall be provided with anti-rust and dust-proof protective measures; its surface shall be sealed, and it shall be stored in a clean, dry location.
